Your Voice, Amplified. The Tools Lake Charles Needsto Organize and Be Heard.
A City Council vote shouldn't be the final word. What if you had the power to organize your community, prove public consensus, and hold decision-makers accountable?
We're exploring bringing a new community platform to Lake Charles, Louisiana and we want to know if you're in.

Tired of Feeling Unheard?
Lake Charles residents know the frustration. Decisions that affect your neighborhood, your wallet, and your future are made without your real input. A City Council vote can reshape the community, but what if the majority of residents disagree? Where do you turn?
Traditional tools like Facebook comments, petitions that disappear, or neighborhood gossip aren't enough. You need something better. Something organized. Something powerful.
A Platform Built for Community Power
We're ToolboxLogic, we specialize in Community Apps. Currently, we're exploring bringing a Lake Charles-specific version to you, designed to help residents:
Community Voice & Polling
Make Your Opinion Count
Create verifiable polls on topics that matter like the sports complex, budget priorities, or infrastructure needs. When 60,000 residents vote on an issue, decision-makers can't ignore it. Our tools help you measure and prove where the community really stands.
Petition & Initiative Organization
Organize and Be Heard
Tired of petitions that go nowhere? Our platform helps you start, circulate, and track community-led petitions with verified support from your neighbors. Whether it's pausing a controversial project or pushing for a new initiative, you'll have the tools to present a unified front to city leaders.
Collective Economic Power
Unlock Your Community's Wallet
What if 500 Lake Charles residents decided to get their oil changed at the same shop this year? That's leverage. Our group purchasing tools let you organize around everyday services, from home repairs to routine maintenance, and negotiate better prices by pooling your buying power. It's not just about saving money. It's about proving that when you organize, vendors listen. And if the community wants to fund a project together without waiting for the city, you can do that too.
Secure Community Discussion
A Space to Plan and Strategize
Public Facebook threads get messy. Our platform gives you a private, resident-only space to discuss what's important. Organize your thoughts, plan your strategy, and collaborate with your neighbors without the noise of public social media.

Your Everyday Spending Funds Community Projects
Lake Charles residents spend $5B per year at local businesses (groceries, restaurants, gas, services - not including industrial plants). When that spending flows through verified vendors, a tiny portion builds a resident-controlled fund for parks, sidewalks, and community projects. You vote. You decide. No waiting for someone to donate or city to fund it.
The Math Is Simple
What Lake Charles residents spend per year
(groceries, restaurants, gas, services - excludes industrial plants)

(~$2B+ flows through platform)
Annual Community Treasury
Resident-controlled infrastructure fund
Every time you buy groceries, eat at a restaurant, or hire a verified plumber, a tiny fee (you never see it) goes to the Community Treasury. It adds up fast. If just 1 in 3 purchases use verified vendors, Lake Charles gets $10M/year for community projects.

Democratic Governance
Residents decide how to spend every dollar
How the Community Treasury Works
Step 1: Shop Like Normal
You buy groceries, eat at restaurants, hire a plumber, get your oil changed - just like you do now. The only difference: you choose verified vendors listed in the Community App. You pay the same price. Nothing changes for you.
Step 2: A Tiny Fee Builds the Treasury
Behind the scenes, verified vendors pay a small fee when you shop with them. You never see it. You never pay it. It's invisible to you. Part of that fee goes to the Community Treasury, part goes to the City of Lake Charles, and part keeps the platform running. Think of it like sales tax - except residents control how it's spent, not city council.
Step 3: You Vote on What to Build
The Community Treasury grows every time people shop through verified vendors. When there's enough money, residents vote on what to build: new playground? Fix the sidewalks? Renovate the park? Whatever wins the vote gets funded. No city council. No waiting. You decide.
Step 4: Money Stays in Lake Charles
When the community votes to build something, that contract goes to a verified local business. The park renovation? Hired a local contractor. The sidewalk repairs? Hired a local crew. The money you spent shopping at verified vendors comes back to local businesses. It never leaves Lake Charles.
What $10M/Year Can Fund
These are illustrative examples of community projects that could be funded by the Community Treasury at 30% market adoption. Actual spending is determined by resident votes.
Neighborhood Park Renovations
$50K-$150K per park
Community Center Upgrades
$200K-$500K
Sidewalk/Road Repairs
$100K-$300K
Public Art Installations
$20K-$80K
Youth Sports Facilities
$150K-$400K
Community Event Funding
$30K-$100K/year
The City Gets Revenue Too
The transaction fee is split three ways: Community Treasury gets its own share, the City of Lake Charles gets a separate share, and the platform gets its operating share. These are independent streams - the city's revenue doesn't come from the Community Treasury, they each get their own portion. If 1 in 3 purchases use verified vendors (30% adoption), the city receives $3M/year while the Community Treasury receives $3M/year separately. Zero budget allocation. Zero tax increase. The more people use the platform, the more both the city and Community Treasury earn.
Translation: The city can fund new projects (street repairs, public safety, economic development) without raising taxes or cutting other programs. It's performance-based revenue - if residents use the platform, the city gets paid. If not, they don't.
Why Vendors Join the Verified Network
The Community Treasury only grows when residents shop at verified vendors in the app. Non-verified businesses can't participate. Here's why local vendors join:
- Competitive Payment Processing Rates: When hundreds of vendors process payments together through the same network, we negotiate better bulk rates than individual businesses could get alone (same concept as Costco buying power, but for credit card fees)
- Community Projects Hire Local Vendors: When residents vote to fund a $150K park renovation from the Community Treasury, verified vendors can bid on that contract. Your business processes $100K in customer transactions this year → contributes to treasury growth → next year you could win a $50K landscaping contract funded by that same treasury. The money cycles back.
- Residents Prefer Verified Vendors: When people know their everyday spending at your business helps fund community projects they get to vote on (like new playgrounds or sidewalk repairs), that's a compelling reason to choose you over competitors who aren't part of the verified network
- City Actively Promotes Verified Vendors: Lake Charles earns municipal revenue when residents shop at verified businesses, giving the city a financial incentive to promote your business through official channels (something they'd never do for Yelp listings or generic directories)
Bottom Line: Everyone Wins
- Residents get money for community projects
- City gets new revenue without raising taxes
- Vendors get customers and treasury-funded contracts
All powered by everyday spending you're already doing.
Important: The Community Treasury model is our intended framework, but implementation depends on legal structuring, city partnership agreements, and sufficient vendor/resident adoption. Projected revenue figures are illustrative based on economic modeling - actual results depend on market penetration and transaction volumes. Community Treasury governance structure (voting procedures, spending authority, oversight) will be defined during platform deployment in coordination with legal counsel and city officials. This is not yet active - we're gathering community interest to determine feasibility.
Lake Charles Community Governance Framework
This isn't a rigid system, it's a configurable digital framework that adapts to whatever governance model your community chooses. Every community can customize how decisions flow, who has override authority, and whether the community votes directly or through representatives.
Malleable by Design: Your community can choose from multiple governance models Community Elect as overrider, community as override authority, full popular vote systems, or hybrid approaches. The technology adapts to your community's preferences.
From Champions to Community-Led Governance
Here's exactly how we transition from a handful of champions to a fully elected, community-run governance structure.
Important Context: You're Building Something New
99.99% of cities don't have this. When we say "organizing your existing committees," we recognize that most community-level governance structures don't exist yet. Unlike city government (mayor, council, departments), there's typically no citywide resident governance framework. That's what we're building together. a digital infrastructure that enables residents to self-organize, make collective decisions, and pool resources without waiting on politicians.
You're not replacing anything. you're creating capacity that never existed. The governance framework you saw above isn't something Lake Charles residents currently have. It's the structure you'll build together using our platform.
The 4-Phase Deployment Process
1Find Champions
We recruit 5-20 Lake Charles residents who care about community governance.
- Champions give us feedback on what the community needs
- We build features based on their input
- They test the platform and provide revisions
2Assign Temporary Roles
Champions who demonstrate leadership capacity are assigned temporary governance roles.
Minimum Required for Launch:
- • 1 Community Elect (governance expert)
- • 1-3 Community Directors
- • Ideally: Directors in key departments (Finance, Governance, Disputes, Group Purchasing, Community Engagement)
These roles are temporary. champions fill them to get the system running, but the community will elect permanent leaders later.
3Launch to Community
The app goes live. Residents sign up, explore features, and start using the platform.
- 300, 3,000, or 10,000+ residents join the platform
- Temporary champions manage operations while community gets familiar
- Residents learn how departments work, what roles exist, and how governance operates
4Community Elections
After the community has time to learn the system, we open up elections for all positions.
3-Stage Election Process:
Anyone can declare candidacy for any open position (Community Elect, Community Directors, Department Elect, Department Directors, Team Lead)
Community votes to narrow candidates down to top 3 finalists per position
Top 3 candidates compete, winner takes the position
Why This Process Matters
1. No Single Point of Failure: ToolboxLogic doesn't control who leads your community. Champions are temporary. The community decides who stays in power through elections.
2. Transparent Transition: Everyone knows when elections happen, who's running, and how voting works. No surprises, no hidden agendas.
3. Ownership from Day 1: Whether you launch with 20 champions or 5, the community always has a clear path to taking full control. This isn't a vendor-managed system. it's yours.
4. Champions Can Lose: Just because someone was a champion during testing doesn't mean they'll win the election. The community might choose different leaders, and that's exactly how it should work.
5. Knowledge Transfer Built-In: Every outgoing leader (whether champion or elected) provides a 2-month handoff period to incoming leaders. No one starts from zero. continuity and institutional knowledge are preserved through proper transition protocols.
6. Non-Partisan Governance: Lake Charles operates as one unified community, not as competing political parties. By leaving party labels at the door, we focus on ideas and solutions. not team colors. This is governance by Lake Charles residents, for Lake Charles residents.
We Partner with You.
This platform isn't ready to launch in Lake Charles yet, and that's by design. We believe in community-led solutions, which means we need your input first.
Find Community Champions
We need 5-10 Lake Charles residents to help shape this platform AND potentially become the first leaders of the Lake Charles Digital Community governance structure (Community Elect, Community Directors, Department leads). Champions will test features, gather feedback, and lead the launch. You'll also learn the transparent governance model that puts residents in control.
Build It Together
Champions work with us to prioritize features, customize the platform for Lake Charles, and make sure it actually solves real problems. This isn't top-down. It's a collaboration.
Free Trial for Everyone
Once the platform is ready, every Lake Charles resident gets 1 month free to test it. No credit card required. Just sign up, explore, and decide if it's right for your community.
Community Decides
If the community loves it, we launch. Residents who want to keep using the platform subscribe for a small monthly fee ($2.5) to keep it independent and ad-free. If Lake Charles doesn't want it, then keep doing what you're doing. No Worries.

Want to Lead the Way?
Lake Charles should be able to organize itself to lead by example, not wait on politicians. We're building a Lake Charles Community App for residents to organize with cryptographically verified voting, digital treasuries for pooling funds, group buying power to negotiate in-town discounts, facility booking, dispute resolution tools, and crowdfunding for community projects. We need 7-20 Champions to shape it. Ready to step up?
Community Champions will work directly with us to:
- Tell us what the Lake Charles Community App needs
- Test and shape the platform for Lake Charles
- Gather feedback from neighbors
- Lead the free trial launch
- Help build a movement for civic empowerment
Champion Rewards:
- ✨ Lifetime Pro Access (no payment, ever)
- 👑 Founding Member Badge in the app
- 🚀 Early access to new features
- 🤝 Leadership role in community governance
In return, you'll get early access, a leadership role, and lifetime Pro access (free forever). But most importantly, you'll help build something that empowers your community that lasts forever.
Before You Apply
Application does not guarantee selection. We carefully review all submissions and select Champions based on community involvement, reach potential, and overall fit. Selection may include follow-up conversations to assess compatibility.
Launch is conditional: Even if selected, platform launch and lifetime benefits depend on sufficient Champion participation and demonstrated community interest. We only move forward if Lake Charles shows it genuinely wants its own Community App.
